Associazione Arte Continua<\/strong> e Miart - Milan international modern and contemporary art fair<\/strong> present \"Cities of the Future - The Alliance between Art, Architecture and Reforestation for the regeneration of life in our cities<\/em>', a series of two meetings on 15 and 16 April at Triennale dedicated to the theme of Cities of the Future.<\/p>\n

The first meeting will be held Saturday 15 April<\/strong> at 18<\/strong> in the spaces of Triennale Milan\u00a0<\/strong>and will see interventions by Mario Cristiani<\/strong>, President of Associazione Arte Continua and Co-founder of Galleria Continua, Tommaso Sacchi<\/strong>, Councillor for Culture of the Municipality of Milan, Valerio Barberis<\/strong>, Councillor for Urban Planning and the Environment of the Municipality of Prato, Loris Cecchini<\/strong>internationally renowned Italian artist and Mario Cucinella<\/strong>, architect and designer, founder of the international studio MCA - Mario Cucinella Architects.<\/p>\n

The Cities of the Future is a project promoted by the Associazione Arte Continua with the aim of bringing together artists from the international community with public administrators, entrepreneurs, economists, directors of cultural institutions, urban planners, scientists, computer scientists and other authoritative protagonists of our time: a series of meetings to understand what role thecontemporary art<\/strong> in presenting itself as an opportunity for stimulus<\/strong> and, at the same time, as tool<\/strong>to give substance to an idea of the city of the future, socially responsible and respectful of the other life forms on the planet, sensitive to the different communities that live in it and to the future generations that will be able to experience and enjoy it, open to using all energy-saving technologies, to all generations and to the sense and pleasure of living in it.<\/p>\n

The second meeting will be held Sunday 16<\/strong> April at 12<\/strong> and will be entirely dedicated to the Todol\u00ec Citrus Foundation's Citrus Project, with talks by Luc\u00eda Mu\u00f1oz Iglesias<\/strong>curator of the project, and Mario Cristiani<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

La Todol\u00ec Citrus Foundation<\/strong> is a non-profit organisation created in 2013 for the study and dissemination of citrus fruits and citrus farming. The Foundation was created by Vicente Todol\u00ec in the city of Palmera (Valencia), in an area that had belonged to his family for five generations and was dedicated to the cultivation of citrus fruits, which was in danger of being subjected to the logic of the tourism industry. The Foundation's objective is to create its own citrus fruit collection, currently consisting of more than 400 varieties, preserved and valorised for the purposes of research, dissemination and education in agricultural, environmental, historical, culinary and industrial matters. At the heart of the project is the recovery of the land, nature and tradition, concretised in an orchard that, rather than a succession of varieties, is rather a garden to be walked through and experienced, in which to try to observe time and understand its role in the construction of the rhythms of nature.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Edited by Luc\u00eda Mu\u00f1oz Iglesias, Citrus Project<\/strong> is the exhibition realised for the benefit of the Foundation at the Librairie Marian Goodman in Paris. The exhibition includes a portfolio of works by 14 different artists who have worked closely with Vicente Todol\u00ed in his role as pre-eminent curator: Miros\u0142aw Ba\u0142ka, Tacita Dean, Nan Goldin, Paul Graham, Carsten H\u00f6ller, Roni Horn, Cristina Iglesias, Ragnar Kjartansson, Julie Mehretu, Cildo Meireles, Matt Mullican, Antoni Muntadas, Philippe Parreno and Juli\u00e3o Sarmento.
