        "rendered": "<p class=\"\"><strong>Ay\u015fe Erkmen<\/strong> (Istanbul, 1949) is a Turkish artist known for her site-specific installations that transform space and audience experience. Her practice explores the relationship between art, architecture, and urban context, intervening with works that play with the perception and function of environments.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">In 1998, he\/she participated in <em>Art in Art III<\/em> with projects for Mensano and Casole d\u2019Elsa, where he chose a typical material from the Val d\u2019Elsa, alabaster, to create four chairs designed by Italian designers. His works, often minimalist and conceptual, have been exhibited in prestigious international institutions, including the Venice Biennale, documenta and MoMA, consolidating his prominent role on the contemporary art scene.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ay\u015fe Erkmen<\/strong> (Istanbul, 1949) is a visual artist recognized as \u201cone of the most important Turkish artists\u201d. She lives and works between Berlin and Istanbul. Influenced by specific sites, stories and geographies, Ay\u015fe Erkmen's works take shape from the social and physical environment in which they are situated. Erkmen does not invent new forms but transforms architectural and social conditions and contexts. Between 1998 and 1999, she worked as Arnold Bode Professor at Kassel Art Academy and between 2000 and 2015 she was a lecturer at Kunstakademie M\u00fcnster. Since 2012, Erkmen has been a member of the Akademie der K\u00fcnste, Berlin. In 2011, Erkmen represented Turkey with her work titled Plan B, at the 54th International Art Exhibition, Venice Biennale. In 2002, she received the Maria Sibylla Merian Prize from the Ministry for Science and Art of the Hessian State Government.<\/p>",
