Associazione Arte Continua e Miart – fiera internazionale d’arte moderna e contemporanea di Milano present "Le Città del Futuro – L’Alleanza tra Arte, Architettura e Riforestazione per la rigenerazione delle vita nelle nostre città', a series of two meetings on 15 and 16 April at Triennale dedicated to the theme of Cities of the Future.
The first meeting will be held Saturday 15 April at 18 in the spaces of Triennale Milan and will see interventions by Mario Cristiani, President of Associazione Arte Continua and Co-founder of Galleria Continua, Tommaso Sacchi, Councillor for Culture of the Municipality of Milan, Valerio Barberis, Councillor for Urban Planning and the Environment of the Municipality of Prato, Loris Cecchiniinternationally renowned Italian artist and Mario Cucinella, architetto e designer, fondatore dello studio internazionale MCA – Mario Cucinella Architects.
The Cities of the Future is a project promoted by the Associazione Arte Continua with the aim of bringing together artists from the international community with public administrators, entrepreneurs, economists, directors of cultural institutions, urban planners, scientists, computer scientists and other authoritative protagonists of our time: a series of meetings to understand what role thecontemporary art in presenting itself as an opportunity for stimulus and, at the same time, as toolto give substance to an idea of the city of the future, socially responsible and respectful of the other life forms on the planet, sensitive to the different communities that live in it and to the future generations that will be able to experience and enjoy it, open to using all energy-saving technologies, to all generations and to the sense and pleasure of living in it.
The second meeting will be held Sunday 16 April at 12 and will be entirely dedicated to the Todolì Citrus Foundation's Citrus Project, with talks by Lucía Muñoz Iglesiascurator of the project, and Mario Cristiani.
La Todolì Citrus Foundation è un’organizzazione senza scopo di lucro creata nel 2013 per lo studio e la diffusione degli agrumi e della agrumicoltura. La Fondazione è stata creata da Vicente Todolì nella città di Palmera (Valencia), in un’area, appartenuta alla sua famiglia per cinque generazioni e dedicata alla coltivazione di agrumi, che rischiava di essere assoggettata alle logiche dell’industria del turismo: obiettivo della Fondazione è la creazione di una propria collezione di agrumi, composta attualmente da più di 400 varietà, conservata e valorizzata a scopo di ricerca, divulgazione ed educazione in materia agricola, ambientale, storica, culinaria e industriale. Alla base del progetto è il recupero della terra, della natura e della tradizione, concretizzato in un frutteto che, più che una successione di varietà è piuttosto un giardino da percorrere e vivere, in cui cercare di osservare il tempo e comprendere il suo ruolo nella costruzione dei ritmi della natura.

La mostra comprende un portfolio di opere di 14 diversi artisti che hanno lavorato a stretto contatto con Vicente Todolí nel suo ruolo di curatore preminente: Mirosław Bałka, Tacita Dean, Nan Goldin, Paul Graham, Carsten Höller, Roni Horn, Cristina Iglesias, Ragnar Kjartansson, Julie Mehretu, Cildo Meireles, Matt Mullican, Antoni Muntadas, Philippe Parreno e Julião Sarmento. Una raccolta di opere che è un omaggio alla terra, alla sua poesia e alla sua materialità, al suo romanticismo e al suo dolore, alla curiosità della sperimentazione, all’accettazione della non piena comprensione, alla gioia del gioco, alla ricerca costante, alla ripetizione e alla casualità.
