Under the arches of the San Francesco bridge, the Chinese artist Cai Guo-Qiang created in 2001 the work UMoCA, Under Museum of Contemporary Art, a project that is part of the series Everything is Museum.
In 2005, on the occasion of the tenth edition of Arte all’Arte, Cai Guo-Qiang invited artist Jennifer Wen Ma to exhibit under the arches of the bridge. For the occasion, she developed the project Aeolian Garden, a work that presents a sound garden where visitors, gently rocked in hammocks, are invited to relax and listen to the sound of the wind produced by aeolian pipes.
