Amedeo Martegani

Amedeo Martegani (Milan, 1963) is an Italian artist whose research moves between painting, installation and intervention in space, often exploring the relationship between art and architecture. His work is characterised by a refined investigation of form and colour, capable of transforming environments into visual and conceptual experiences.

In 1997 he participated in the II edition of Art to Art with a project realised in the garden of the Rocca di San Gimignanoan intervention that dialogued with the landscape and history of the place, creating a bridge between past and present.

Amedeo Martegani was born in 1963 in Milan, where he lives and works. A taste for lightness, the pleasure of intellectual adventure and the rejection of all ideologism characterise Martegani's art. Wandering between multiple interests, passions, languages, he eludes any attempt at definition. The work thus becomes both an event and a trail to follow, as in nature, where the author does not assert an ontological privilege, but peeps out - as the title of one of Martegani's works suggests.
