Il progetto ha messo in relazione la produzione di pensiero e cultura del presente con le realtà produttive dei territori coinvolti attraverso la costruzione di una rete tra Enti, territorio, specificità industriali e produttive ed artisti internazionali, nella convinzione che l’arte possa essere strumento d’azione e gli artisti possano essere attivatori di esperienze condivise, di relazioni – anche tra pubblico e privato – e rigeneratori delle identità dei luoghi. Pensiero condiviso in prima istanza da GALLERIA CONTINUA e Associazione Arte Continua da sempre interessate alla relazione tra arte e territorio e fautrici della necessità di coinvolgere gli artisti in un percorso di riconsiderazione di questioni sociali.
Two artists have been invited to give voice to the project: Loris Cecchini and Giovanni Ozzola. The former appears in Santa Croce sull'Arno, the “capital” of the tannery district, known worldwide for its companies and for the production and processing of materials. The latter appears in Pisa, a city rich in intangible resources centred on the historical presence of its university and research institutes, and companies that export their products and know-how globally. The meetings held in recent months between the artists, the community, and local excellences have led Cecchini and Ozzola to undertake a project with two local companies, both with international connections or dealings and a strong focus on research. These are the Superior S.p.A tannery in Santa Croce sull'Arno, which deals with leather processing, and IDS Ingegneria dei Sistemi in Pisa, which specialises in technology, specifically electronic engineering.
